driving along the ocean, we would get glimpses of it. but it wasn't like oregon hwy 101...less curvy, farther from the ocean.
i loved the lushness of these balcony gardens...
quarry formations...
and the little backyard place we ate dinner. the mechanic whose tools clint was borrowing to work on the van directed us back behind his shop to this little yard with an outdoor kitchen. catherine had cooked up a pot of soup and a stack of fresh tortillas to sell for dinner. the soup was delicious...beef and potatoes, with a little bit of spiciness, enough for me but not the rest of the group. they all added this spicy sauce to theirs.
juan turned out to be a trucker, so he poured over the map with clint to help us find the best routes for tomorrow's driving. some of the routes are closed due to mudslides from the rain.
we had such a lovely time of visiting with their family while clint was working on the van. it turned out that they were new christians and so we had some sweet fellowship and prayer and a time of encouragement for us as well as them.
it was a bittersweet parting to say adios and leave them. we found a hotel not too far away where clint could find an auto store the next morning. i'll post pics of thee hotel next time. we are praying God is blessing you richly as you support us in your prayers. our love comes home to you all....
